DESCRIPTION
In the heart of San Michele Salentino stands the “Salvatore Cavallo” Art Gallery, a prestigious cultural space that represents a key reference point for the artistic life of the area.
Housed in a spacious building recently renovated, the Gallery extends over two floors connected by a wide and sinuous staircase that guides visitors along a harmonious and evocative exhibition path. The overall collection includes nearly 300 works, including paintings, sculptures, and graphic artworks, offering a significant overview of Italian art of the second half of the twentieth century. The works are not permanently displayed in their entirety, but are presented on a rotating basis, allowing for continuous renewal of the exhibition layout and, over time, enhancing the entire collection.
The collection includes numerous works donated by Cavallo himself and signed by some of the most authoritative figures on the national and international art scene.
Among the most prestigious names are Remo Brindisi, Concetto Pozzati, Alberto Sughi, Luigi Filocamo, Salvatore Fiume, and Giulio Turcato, alongside other masters of the second half of the twentieth century. The exhibition itinerary is enriched by technical sheets curated by APS Le Colonne, which accompany visitors through an in-depth and conscious cultural experience.
The “Salvatore Cavallo” Art Gallery thus presents itself not only as a place of preservation, but as a dynamic space for the promotion and enhancement of art, capable of combining local identity with an international outlook.
